I don't have a problem learning Drupal 8, my issue is that conversion will be impossible with my sites from 7 to 8. One site in particular uses about 20 modules. There is no way all of these are going to be ported to 8, just as many of the great modules died with Drupal 6. I am so used to these modules, so dependent on these modules, that I can't move to 8. For most of us, our decision of what tool to used is based on functionality. Without modules and themes, Drupal 8 out of the box is almost useless. Even if I could find updates of all my modules to Drupal 8 versions, I can't imagine there could be a smooth conversion. I would have to manually update a lot of the content. To me, Drupal 8 is for new users or new websites. I can't upgrade any of my existing ones to 8.
